Runaway Review - This is not a Belinda solo album but I must include this landmark album. The girls who paved the way for female rock bands reformed after 15 years in 2001 to record a brand new album and this is one of the gresteat albums I have ever heard Belinda or not. Okay, "La La Land" is like an intro tune rocking fast but oh so catchy and pop rock and Belinda sings great here, followed by the ist radio single "Unforgiven" which is pure Gogo rock! "Apology" is one of the most Belinda solo sounding songs a pop like mid-tempo ballad and the 2nd single, this is just one of Belinda best vocals she has recorded, "Stuck In My Car" the obvious fan favourite it is the summer song of the year a fast, in your face Gogo song...Belinda rocks and this is my all time favourite. "Vision Of Nowness" is great pop rock then we slip into the darker "Here You Are" a ballad and very Belinda and a brillant track following is "Automatic Rainy Day" a pop rock tune that is so feel-good you just fall in love with this song, magic! Into more rock is "Kissing Asphalt" and "Sonic Superslide" and a favourite of Belinda's is "Throw Me A Curve" a rock pop track that is all about not having to be thin and never eat but too have a figure and still look sexy! "Talking Myself Down" is a darker satyle song, kinda rock edged...but the highlight on the entire album is the song the girls sing bout the rise and fall with fame called "Daisy Chain" a slow ballad but Belinda's vocals will just blow your mind. This is a landmark album one for the history book's. The most successful all-girl female rock band in the world reforming for a masterpeice of work, that is exactly what this album is, purely brillant songs. Even if you are not a fan of old "GoGo" music this is so much more, it is fresh but still has that classic sound and Belinda sounds better vocally than I have ever heard...this lady still has so much power behind that voice...Stay tuned cos in 2002 Belinda will be writing and recording her next solo album, she is looking very forward to her next album...but for now please go and buy this album. (Australian fans you may have to buy this as an import album, online or possibly through your music shop near you...but don't miss it) |

Runaway Review - What a DVD! This is for the GoGo and Belinda fans. Belinda and the girls look and sound amazing, they rock through their hits like "We Got The Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed" to the hot new tracks like "Unforgiven" and "Stuck In My Car" which is a highlight. The lighting and sound on the DVD is awesome the girls are just amazing and they look like they are enjoying themselves so much. The whole tracklisting is brillant and tracks like "Skidmarks On My Heart" and "Sonic Superslide" add to the excitement...A Must have! There is also 30 min "behind The Scenes" footage. Firstly you get to see the girls talking to the camera while they're getting their make-up put on before the show. Then you see them in the Limo Van that takes them to the show, great footage with Belinda and the girls mucking aound. Plus you see fans lining up to the show, the girls before they go on stage and also a little interview with the girls with their thoughts on some of their new songs from their new album "God Bless The GoGo's"...An Awesome DVD! |

Belinda Jo Carlisle was born in Hollywood, California on August 17th, 1958. Belinda has a big family of 8 children. Belinda grew up and took a liking to punk music and she soon found herself in the now legendary all girl-group "The Go-Go's". In 1981, The Go-Go's signed to IRS Records. They had 2 TOP 20 Hits with "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got The Beat" and their debut album "Beauty And The Beat" went double platinum. In 1982 they released their follow-up album "Vacation" and in 1984 "Talk Show". The girls were on top of the world with millions of dollars and it all took it's toll and they were strung out on drugs and alcohol and they split in 1985. |
In 1989 Belinda released her 3rd solo album and once again dominated the charts worldwide with more success. Belinda's record sales had already exceeded 3 million before this album. "Runaway Horses" was released in 1989 and features the worldwide smash "Leave A Light On", the 2nd single "La Luna", "Runaway Horses", the Australian smash hit "Summer Rain", the UK smash hit "(We Want) The Same Thing" and the 6th single was the beautiful "Vision Of You". This album also went Double Platinum and Belinda toured the world on a huge worldwide concert tour. |

This album debuted on the UK charts at #15 and sold over 100,000 copies. In 2001 Belinda reformed with the Go-Go's again but this time they released their first brand new album in over 15 years titled "God Bless The Go-Go's". With 13 new songs this album is certainly a highlight in her career, she sounds better than ever and this album is a must for all fans. Also in 2001 Belinda poses for "PLAYBOY" in August issue and she shows that you can look stunning at 42 and still be healthy and shapely. Belinda is touring the USA with The Go-Go's through-out 2001.
